I need to learn how to scuba dive first though...and find an area where the fish don't nibble.

10. Ride all of the roller coasters at Hershey Park.
The Great Bear and Roller Soaker in particular - your feet hang down on those two.

11. Well at least with the Roller Soaker, you'll have dry clothes when you're done
Here's some Roller Soaker trivia. HP had a contest to name that roller coaster before it was introduced in the park for everyone to ride. The winning name (Roller Soaker) was suggested a guy who took me to the prom ages ago.

12. Well now THAT is cool!
I remember the contest. That's a great name for it. They've turned that entire end of the park into a water park called The Boardwalk (really original). It meant eliminating the Canyon River Rapids, but they put a lazy inner tube loop around the perimeter instead. In a way I guess that is good because they seem to have a sufficient supply of tubes so there isn't the 2 hour wait to get in the water (which I never stood in - we went on Wednesdays for that stuff to avoid the lines).

13. I don't know how that park expands - it's so tiny to begin with
and it's right there in downtown Hershey to boot. What they should get rid of is the "Super Dooper Looper", that has to be the world's lamest rollercoaster.

16. I went on that the year it OPENED. It was the first of its kind anywhere around.
I still like it. It is a pleasant ride. When it came out it was a pants-shitter. Besides, it doesn't have a big enough footprint to put anything more dramatic in its spot. They wedged the Great Bear around it so tightly that you can't really do anything useful with the space. The one I can't understand is the Comet. I last went on it about 6 years ago and it was so shaky and rough I got off with a headache, yet it always has a huge line. Go figure. If they need some running room for a new ride, that's my candidate for replacement.

17. See I love the Comet - that is a rollercoaster legend
The one thing the SDL is good for is a first time looping coaster for young kids. I mean when SDL first came out, we were probably both just young'ins (I was also on it the first year and scared out of my mind). But as an adult there are just way better coasters to waste your time on than the SDL.

Every so often our family will go to Hersheypark in May, which is a great time to ride rollercoasters and not deal with horrible lines (bad time for waterrides though). I had my niece and my best friend's daughter with me and well they were terrified of looping coasters (they were about 8-9 years of age, maybe younger) so I told them to try the SDL once just to see if they would like it. We ended up riding that coaster about 10-12 times that day. After that they both loved all the coasters.

18. There's never a line! Why wait 2 hours in the hot sun when you can spend 10 minutes,...
mostly walking the maze under a cover to get back on the SDL? I refuse to wait in long lines. I've done the front seat ten or so times in a row. It is one of the best coasters for leaning into the curves - almost as good as the front seat of the Lightening Racer.

20. Run a half marathon along highway 90 in Gulfport, Mississippi.
20 years ago that would have been a sight, now it would be just criminal.

22. In the 90's
I did a thousand miles a year (or more.) I've become quasi-sedentary since retirement but I think I could finish a half marathon now but there would be walking involved. I've rediscovered the weight room and the walking trails and want to lose a lil flab now, after fucking off for years.

but it's the beer I drink afterward that negates everything!
