Post your favorite "classic" song from the seventies
I have many favorites but these couple really stand out...
Queen..."Bohemian Rhapsody"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=irp8CNj9qBI

Styx "Renegade"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXhuso4OTG4

Supertramp "The Logical Song"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOwDXNJbZK0

Three very different types of songs.

Popular Hawai'i musician Keali'i Reichel covered "Come Sail Away". (we have many more performers than songwriters, so covers are de rigueur.)

Without further ado, then,

song which would qualify as my favorite one(s) from the 70s but if you add Aerosmith
in your band list it covers a majority of the songs from that era.The first LP that
I ever had was Cristal ball from Styx. And I'm not saying this to kiss your butt
but Rush is in the mix.Fly by night was the first of their album I bought.
(Wow 3 butts in the same sentence).:)

Born to Run...

It was taking that wanderlust from the 50's that was lost when the Hippies took over and bringing it back to the mainstream. It also brought a sense of jubilation back into rock-n-roll that had been sorely missing.

And it just kicked compared to most of the other so called rock songs of that era.

Come on now, is there anything more rock-n-roll than "tramps like us, baby we were born to run..."

A song about misfits and freedom and escape and joy.

And a full band complete with Sax and organ and keyboards and a great riff...

No fucking synthesizers.

I forgot the link...
