I migrated to the lounge from GD after the tsunami threads which were generally certain that since they didn't know exactly what HAARP was doing that it must have caused the tsunami. Then there was a giant debate about wood on mars (seen in a rover picture).

I couldn't take that amount of pointlessness so I came here for Matcom news and music flamewars and to look at picture threads. I have found that on most days the level of political discussion is just as high here as it is on any other DU forum--plus there is a lot of fun stuff right there. ANd there generally isn't the open combat.

After a few years though you begin to see the veilied behind the scenes combat--usually evidenced by noticing a DUer hasn't posted for awhile and doing a search and seeing the tombstone. Sometimes you find out why, more often you don't. Whither the progmoms and JimmyJazzes of yore?

Then playing detective can become a bit of a hobby. Now the place just feels like home.
