I was flipping through the channels, and I heard "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen.

As is normal nowadays, I think of Wayne, Garth, and their three friends in the back of their Pacer now. :-)

I used to have a 1971 Gremlin, it was ugly, but it ran great, easy to work on, and at least in front I had all the room I needed. ;-)

My friends used to laugh at my Gremlin, while they were driving their Camaros and Impalas.

I didn't care, I always had a lot more money for myself, that didn't go into the gas tank.

2. 70 Maverick with rusted out floor boards
But it could run CIRCLES around almost everything and I outraced several Cameros - it only had a 200 straight six! Fast fucking car and it could go off road (including corn field). Damn it pissed off the so called "muscle car" assholes when I got the best of them. I've got kids now so I don't drive like that, but I do have a Pontiac Montana min van and still have fun blowing the stupid little rice-rocket gocarts off the line. They are just a smudge in the rear-view mirror. Hey, it has a Pontiac engine. They get bored if you don't use them once in a while.

4. Not me but my Dad - a 50s Jaguar sedan
Sounds cool, doesn't it? But the paint job was shot, the interior needed to be redone, and it backfired so much, driving it sounded like a running gun battle. Oh, and it got assigned to be my sister's car. That sister weighed all of 98 pound wet - and the power brakes and power steering on that monster had no power. She had to put both feet on the brake pedal and stand up on it, holding onto the steering wheel, to stop it. It was very exciting.

Dad always wanted to restore that car, but back then, there was no one nearby that knew how to work on a Jaguar and we just did not have the money to put into it. So it sat out in the back field a rotted.

7. I had a Chevy Chevette--it got great mileage (for the time)
and it always started--I gave many a jump start to much more prestigous cars in the High School parking lot.

Plus it gave me the minimalist vibe I carry on to this day. It was just (barely) enough to get away with, and not a smidgeon more.

I grooved on that.

8. Oh, yes...

1959 Triumph 10. It was a laugher, but a serious chick magnet, if you can imagine.
