I know they're talking about Michael Jackson's father, but I'm always caught off guard for a split-second, wondering why the English musician is being mentioned by high-profile mainstream media outlets.

4. that's how I used to feel when I saw the name Don Cherry -
I was always bummed when it was the hockey guy and not the jazz musician.

5. Funny you should mention Don Cherry...
I just made a Neneh Cherry joke yesterday while eating some chicken wings. (One of the dipping sauce options was Buffalo Ranch. You can see where this is going.)

I had fun watching some Rip Rig and Panic vids not too long ago. People tend to forget that she had a career prior to all her "fame." ;) We were watching the Young Ones, and I said, OMG, there's Rip Rig and Panic!

9. You even have the "Tucker" soundtrack?
If so, very impressive. For some reason, I have copies of "Big World" on vinyl, cassette and CD, although I've only ever listened to the CD.

11. Oops, I guess I lack in soundtracks.
Nope, I don't have this one.

Never heard of the movie, either, but now since your mentioned it ... I'll soon have it. ;) And while most trashed his 'Heaven And Hell' CD, I still love it:

15. At first I had the same reaction
but now I'm used to seeing the monstrous old fucker plugging his new record co and talking about how "fantastic" the whole family is doing. What a piece of work. And seeing him on TV is just scratching the surface of his assaholism.

19. The hell? We used the word "fantastic?"
That just doesn't seem to be a fit way to describe a family that just lost a loved one. Especially when you take into consideration the suddenness!

21. For real!
He's doin "great", the family is "fantastic", his wife is doing very well, too.

And he keeps repeating, in this wooden manner, about what a superstar we've lost. Not his son, but a superstar. Absolutely no emotion. Looks like he's not capable of emotion, except of course anger.

Seriously twisted.

22. Oops, I meant "he" not "we."
And no wonder he's saying "fantastic." His "superstar's" recording sales are going to skyrocket in the wake of his death, so more $$$ for Papa . . . I mean Manager . . . Joe. :(

My second thought it usually "Shoeless."
