What Did Richard Nixon Eat?
Is it true about the cottage cheese and ketchup? And that he couldn't eat cheeseburgers?

cottage cheese with ketchup?

13. I've seen it mixed with salsa.
Never saw anybody eat it with ketchup. Of course I don't know too many who eat it at all. I'm the only one in this house that likes cottage cheese. MMMMM with chives or green onions and a little salt.

7. Neil Young sang, "Even Richard Nixon has God's soul."
Do you agree?

11. "Campaigner" is one of my favorite all-time Neil Young songs
I've read interviews with Neil where he's discussed it. Throughout the Bush years, I've compared Bush to Nixon. The comparison has usually been that Nixon (in my view) consistently did what he thought was "right," no matter how delusional he might have been, while Bush did what he "wanted to do" under the guise of it being "best for America."

So I think Richard Nixon had soul.

By the way, the line is "Even Richard Nixon has got soul," not "God's" soul. Young later sings "Even Richard Nixon has GOT IT...soul..."

:toast:

CAMPAIGNER

I am a lonely visitor.
I came too late to cause a stir,
Though I campaigned all my life towards that goal.
I hardly slept the night you wept
Our secret's safe and still well kept
Where even Richard Nixon has got soul.
Even Richard Nixon has got
Soul.

Traffic cops are all color blind.
People steal from their own kind.
Evening comes to early for a stroll.
Down neon streets the streaker streaks.
The speaker speaks, but the truth still leaks,
Where even Richard Nixon has got soul.
Even Richard Nixon has got it,
Soul.

The podium rocks in the crowded waves.
The speaker talks of the beautiful saves
That went down long before he played this role
For the hotel queens and the magazines,
Test tube genes and slot machines
Where even Richard Nixon got soul.
Even Richard Nixon has got it,
Soul.

Hospitals have made him cry,
But there's always a free way in his eye,
Though his beach just got to crowded for his stroll.
Roads stretch out like healthy veins,
And wild gift horses strain the reins,
Where even Richard Nixon has got soul.
Even Richard Nixon has got
Soul.

I am a lonely visitor.
I came too late to cause a stir,
Though I campaigned all my life towards that goal.

12. Tricky Dick was a native Californian and never touched Ketchup until Reagan fucked things up
Edited on Sun Jun-28-09 11:50 PM by Brother Buzz
Native California sons of all political persuasions were loyal to DelMonte Catsup until the Reagen administration screwed it up

In the 1980s, there was some issue over how to classify 'Ketchup' under the federal food program, and the feds, those ever-clever fellows, declared that Ketchup would appear on school lunch menus as a vegetable. This created a lot of angst over at the old Del Monte Catsup works because, suddenly, their Catsup, due to its spelling, was out of the loop and excluded from the government's approved list. Not very long after that, Del Monte changed the name of its product from 'Catsup' to 'Ketchup.'

18. It was A1 Steak Sauce.
I remember reading about Nixon's strange liking for cottage cheese and A1 Steak Sauce back when he was still President. When, or why, it changed to ketchup I don't know.

20. Nixon ate liberal pussies like us for breakfast every morning
Nixon kicked ass. Nixon outpeaced the hippies at their own game. Nixon out racisted the Dixiecrats. Nixon out liberaled the Kennedys with his left fist and out Hoovered the John Birchers with his right. Nixon was the fuckin' man, man. He out working-classed organized labor, out paranoied the CIA, and then wiped his ass with the US Constitution--not just the Bill of Rights like these panty waisted neocons today, Nixon fucking stole a whole presidential election, not because he needed it to win but because he just fucking felt like it. Tricky Dick? He wasn't a man, he was a goddamned Narwhal!
