1. I'm sorry
it does indeed suck to eat the same thing over and over. my ex used to eat peanut butter sandwiches and had chips with koolaid twice a day, every day during college. It will pass!

5. Yeah, I've had a ton of peanut butter sandwiches this month.
I sometimes mix it up.

Tuna or egg salad, but it just gets dull.

What bargain store did he shop? I got ripped off to the tune of 19 cents!

Eating crap food is a staple of student life. And it makes that first job out of school seem so much better.

3. We all do this.
I ate junk all the way through law school.

I can afford to eat anything I want now, except that my older body wants to horde the calories and pack on lard. So I still can't "afford" to eat what I want, or I'll turn into a blivet. Life's a bitch. And then we die.

Life's a bitch, then you marry one, then you have a few and then you die.

At least that's what my dad always said.

What an asshole.

whatever it is you are studying can be studied here. there are tons and tons of small ethnic restaurants where you could splurge once a week and get a $5 meal.

7. Do you have a small crockpot?
Soups are pretty cheap to throw together...make a lot if you have the fridge space. If not, some V-8 juice, veggies and a few spices in a small crockpot might still break up the monotony.

You're *supposed* to go through that PB sandwich/ramen noodle stage. It builds character, and let's you know that you really can live on $2/day. It won't last forever.

18. I lived that way for a while
not while I was a college student, but while I was a young military wife.

I had so much ramon noodles, I could have choked, but fortunately I got to mix it up with peanut butter (in a good week) and kraft macoroni and cheese.

I learned a lot during those times. Most of all, I learned I could survive almost anything. Well..anything !!

You'll be OK. As long as you're eating sandwiches, you're fine. Take the advice above, however, about soup. It's cheap to make, and it's very good for you.

41. Get some veggies and make soup or casseroles
I've been eating summer squash and zucchini every day for the last three weeks. Three summer squash cut up with cheese, bread crumbs, onions, eggs, and cheese made a huge casserole - probably 8-12 servings. Squash with onions, garlic, tomatoes and riccota cheese are simpler and make a lot of servings for not much - that can be cooked on the stove top, just sautee the onions and garlic, mix in the sliced squas, top with tomato slices, cook over low heat until the tomatoes are done as you like, and then melt the cheese on top. I added some crumbled bacon into the mix for extra flavor.

Since I was tired of greens by themselves, I tossed the last batch of wilted greens into one of the squash dishes and that worked good. For another dish with greens I have also sauteed onion and garlic, wilted chopped greens and then stirred that into cooked whole grains spaghetti. Served with a little cheese on top, that has been a meal for me several evenings.

Those are the veggies in season here right now. But another good veggie is potato. Potato salad is easy to make and nice on a hot day.

Buy what veggies are in season and cheap, then get a few more expensive ingredients like cheese, bacon or sausage to dress them up. The veggies will fill you up more than a sandwich and give you more vitamins!
