Has anybody here ever been to a Georgetown cocktail party?

I want to know WHAT goes on at these high-powered pow-wows. What kind of deals are being made? What kind of secretive "understandings" are being reached?

1. Yes.

The same thing that goes on at lunch over on Capitol Hill, but with more booze, more wives and fewer, uh, really good friends.

2. Yes, but it was long ago and more dope was smoked than

alcohol swilled. It was the late 60's, a couple of days before one of the Pentagon marches. Lots of strange people mixing with university types in turtleneck sweaters. Very strange scene.
