Poll question: How do you respond when someone says "thank you"
"No problem" irks me to no end - yet I find myself saying it sometimes. :grr:

1. "You SHOULD thank me.!"

No problem bugs me and the first time I say I'm moving out of California.:D

2. Sometimes 'you're welcome'...
but sometimes 'uh huh'. I have no idea where I got 'uh huh' from but I do say it in a very pleasant tone of voice, so I hope that mitigates the wrongness of it somehow.

3. "Don't sweat it."
Just kidding.

I voted "You're welcome," though I might say something like "By all means." or "My pleasure."

6. Oh yeah... I say 'my pleasure' too.
I've said 'no problem' too, but not as often as 'uh huh'.

5. My pleasure or something akin to it.
"No problem" comes across to me as "It is a problem, but I'll suffer in silence". I really can't stand the expression.

Now if, instead of "Thank you," someone says something like, "I'm sorry to have caused trouble," then I'll tell them, "It was no trouble at all," and follow up with, "I'm glad I could help.

7. I mix it up,
Your welcome, your very welcome, no problem, not a problem, certainly, there are probably a few others too.

9. "De nada", sometimes.
although, there aren't really a whole lot of people here who speak Spanish. Or much decent Mexican food, for that matter. Odd, considering that in many ways, we're kind of like California's "59th county".

12. Depends on what it is for.
If it is for work that I have done, I usually say "No problem".

If it is for something like a compliment or something else, I say "You're welcome".

If they don't say "thank you" I punch them in the face.
