Me...I'm excited about my niece and best friend coming over to visit me for Christmas in Germany. I'm also stoked about picking up my first pair of glasses tomorrow so I can fucking read again!!!

8. I just got summoned for jury duty in August!

So if my group is called to report, I'll get at least $15. :woohoo:

10. Jury duty was cool when I got called

I sat on a jury for a stabbing case. We found the girl not guilty. She probably stabbed the other girl,but the DA didn't prove it.

After that, I do all I can to get out of jury duty. I did it once, that was enough.

19. I had a similar trial...

A guy was on trial for armed robbery and assault of a cabbie, who had been shot in the back. Defense said the cabbie tried to rob the gunman...looking for drugs...and in a struggle over the gun, shot himself in the back. The DA was trying to get a first degree murder charge on the defendant; but the police work was sloppy. They hadn't done a paraffin test because it was expensive, and they thought the case was cut and dry (defendant was black and the cabbie was white, and the county cops are notoriously racist). It also happened after all the OJ stuff took place.

We ended up a hung jury, though we'd all been able to conclude the defendant was not guilty of 1st degree.

29. Of course us jurors weren't allowed to discuss the case outside of the juror room

so what did we do? Talked about the OJ trial. Worked out pretty good.

9. I am looking forward to finishing our well at the cabin

we have been working on it for the last couple of months..need to get the cistern dropped and get the hydrants connected and installed and we will be in business. The pump is powered by two solar panels so we will always have fresh, clean water. Then the cabin will be totally self contained and we will have a place to go to in an emergency.

28. Next time I go

I will hike up the hill and take some pics of the cabin. I know exactly where to go. I will go to the exact same spot where a guest painted a picture of the cabin once. I don't have a cam but I totally can borrow one.

11. 2 things - getting our car back from the garage, probably not till next week,

and buying a new guitar amp, probably after Christmas when they go on sale. I want a Peavey, probably a 212 50 watt.
I love Peavey stuff - have an older Peavey USA bass and amp, and had one of their guitars. They make very fine instruments and I don't think anyone tops their amps.
OK, so I'm excited.
