What kind of bizarre animals do corn dogs come from?

What kind of bizarre animals do corn dogs come from?
Is there some kind of cow and/or pig out there that is naturally breaded with corn meal? Or is it just their organs that are covered in corn meal? I've wondered about this for awhile...
