Finally, I have time to write!

Now that I'm done school, I can work on some pieces I've been wanting to work on. One for an upcoming anthology on gender - I really hope my work gets in, it would be great to be published. I also want to work on a monologue of sorts for this cabaret type show looking for submissions - it's a night of performances by queer artists with disabilities, and I want to do a piece about growing up queer with a learning disability.

But....I haven't written for "fun" in so long, I feel like I'm having trouble getting started again. Any suggestions to get me going?

And one thing I've learned...when I want to write, but I have no idea what...I just start writing whatever comes into my mind. It doesn't matter if it's garbage, which it usually is, but the idea is just to get going writing.

As you dig down, the better ideas will surface.

4. Do you want to go for fiction or non-fiction?

With fiction, I find that just expanding on a 'what if' situation can sometimes help you come up with something. It can also lead to crap that you decide isn't worth writing, but you'll never know until you try it. :)
