2. Stop trying to get me to like that country twang.
Morse is great. It's cool to see a posting that's not of the 3 fingered guitarist of the '60s once in a while here at DU.

That is who should be on the next G3 tour.

I wonder if Dave LaRue could manage playing for Morse's set, Satriani's set, and Petrucci's (and the jam) for a night, much less a tour without going crazy or dropping dead.

3. I don't wanna write checks that Mr LaRue has to cash--but I'd like to
see him take a crack at it!

I also really like Steve Vai's bassist from a few G3s ago--I think his name was Phil Bynoe. I just really liked his huge "rock star" bass sound.

4. Fan since the Dixie Dregs days
Still have "Dregs of the Earth" on vinyl, and his first solo album, "The Introduction". Love his tone and technique.

5. Which Dregs' album has the guest appearance by Steve Howe?
Who contributes an accoustic solo piece; I liked the tune, I just still think it a little strange to include on a Dregs Album!

6. "Up In The Air" - it was on 'Industry Standard'
Which was their last album, circa 1982. It made sense to me - southern bands were pretty diverse, and many of them loved the 'art rock' bands of the 70's. The Dregs filled that niche very well. I think the stranger aspect of that album was having 2 guest vocalists (from Santana and the Doobie Bros.) - which were the weakest cuts on what is instrumentally one of their best albums. That was when Mark O'Connor joined on violin!
