Hey, yall musicians out there, riddle me this.
In the song “Nothing but a Good Time” by Poison, toward the end of the song (starts about 3:48 in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7vicm8GQ_4), you hear a sort of sweeping sound about half a dozen times.

Anyone know what it is?

If it's your thing, that's totally fine. Someone who has no taste in anything already mentioned in this topic, I'm a musical oddity.

Back to your original question. The fade in drum blast was a popular effect in the 80s for some reason. A much better band, The Cult, used it extensively on the album Sonic Temple.

5. Not a big fan of Glam rock, but I must say
CC Deville really is one hell of a guitarist.

I also recently discovered Mick Mars from the Crue - I tended to ignore these two guys for over 20 years because of their look, but they really can play!!.
