Racing as it should be
Worlds apart from F1, NASCAR, or Indy.

I'm amazingly lucky to have been a part of this for the last 30 years. Our clubs rent these ski area access roads in the off-season, and we hold time trials. This batch of pictures comes to us from Marcel Donaj, an art photographer who we see now and then. A little different, but the man has an eye....

1. What, I can't even draw snark from NASCAR haters?

3. Well, considering the
hater has been suspended, that just leaves his twin.

i`d find a little used gravel road and go hell bent for leather with these gravel road terrors...

i had three monte carlos-3 and 4 cylinders

the winter time was even more fun!

i think you were supposed to stay ON the road....

4. Staying on the road is the plan.....
There are granite storm drain headers lurking in those ditches!
Yes, we love old SAABs too... We had some Sonnets in the series back in the day, and 96's 99's, and 9000 series are popular family cars in our crowd.
What does'nt show to well in the pictures is the grade - it averages 17%! really makes the engine sweat....

6. Sorry they do not meet your standards
Marcel is an artist, mostly lives in his car. His main thing are large format B&W prints, mostly still life studies in shadow. He does'nt have the right equipment to shoot action well - but occasionally he catches something pretty neat.
And besides - look at ol' #747 in some of the other pics - IMHO, the intervening tree improves the looks considerably! And I was there - that is what the sky looked like that day! Strong sun behind high cloud - not optimum light to be shooting into.

9. Thanks!
Fun with mad motor toys is pretty much what this is about - but we like our style of fun! One of the drivers of the Spitfire/Mopar #89 is our 1st 3rd generation driver in this series. And Sat' nites potluck ruled!
