Someone in my local Barnes & Noble has a sense of humor...
I was in there yesterday between appointments, just killing some time and "fondling books" as Mrs. Arbusto says.

In any case, I saw one of the bargain book displays, and something caught my eye.

On eof the books there was "How to Draw Hell Beasts" and it had a very Dungeons-and-Dragons looking monster on the front cover. Real nightmare fuel. Right next to this book on the display was one of Ann Coulter's older titles (for $2.99. HAH!). I cannot believe this was total happenstance.

8. When I was in college the bookstore manager used to do stuff like that
For example, Vanilla Ice's (remember him?) autobiography came out my junior year of college. First, the manager put it in ethnic studies. Then it moved to literature. I'm not sure where it ended up eventually.

3. I've been guilty of inverting all the Ann Coulter books at my B&N.
As in having their page side face out.

4. As a former B&N bookseller/shelver I can assure you...
...that while the rest of the shelves are planogrammed (layout set by corporate) I have no doubt that this was a creative bookseller at work in the bargain section. We used to make our sly political statements that way when I worked there - our little subversive move for our red red neighborhood. :)
