I was in church yesterday..and
well, I usually don't go to any kind of religious services.
Strange feeling in the building..odd. and it was type of church I wouldn't attend..but a friend of mine's grand daughter was getting confirmed. Got mixed feelings about it, but I went and survived..

3. That was a good thing for you to do for your friend and friend's granddaughter.
Buildings generally have only the power we confer to them, and being in a church isn't necessarily an endorsement of the church's teachings. Good for you for being a good friend.

4. A lot of churches around here were used as stables during the Civil War
It's sad, because I enjoy the architecture, a lot of which has been destroyed. But yeah, the North used a lot of these old Anglican churches some as old as the 1600s as stables during the Civil War.

7. A lot of the churches here have absolutely beautiful, and often very well preserved, art.
And, like you, I enjoy the architecture. :hi:

5. In the years I was an atheist, I would treat these sort of events
as an anthropologist would. I would be respectful, observe and try to learn something from the ceremonies and people I was witnessing.

6. that 'strange feeling' was your friend making moves on the other five families
right when the priest said "Michael Francis Rizzi; do you renounce satan?" know that about 20 people in your city got shot up or blown up...
