on the other hand I found a 20 peso note this morning
very weird - the border patrol was crawling all over the place this morning (and obviously during the night) - even caught some to yell at for going off the road. I went by to check a water trough we just turned on last week and there was a 20 peso note on the bottom held down with a pebble. I should have taken a picture.

I wonder if it was a thankyou for the water or just a signal to other scattered migrants from whatever was going on last night. Oh well it'll buy me a taco or two next trip.

4. try
are you confused? sympathetic? pissed? Was I too cryptic? I'm happy to elaborate, or go off on a rant - or even tell more stories.

3. When the Minuteman missles were being installed in Montana,
my father spent some significant time yelling at the Corp of Engineers
for going off the road.

I would have like to have seen a picture.

8. it's covered over, not sure what the underground situation is
some guy from Phoenix bought the site a couple years ago. I can remember Grampa stopping by the guard house to give the guys a little shit. As we would drive away he would say things like "those Generals get lunch delivered in a helicopter" I don't think he was too happy with the situation and sure didn't get anything out of it but headaches since it was on State Trust land.

After going to the museum in Green Valley we got curious about it but for some reason none of us wanted to dig anything up by hand and we don't have any real equipment so...

A few years ago I met a woman who drives a big machine (dozer?) who said she was there when they closed it (early 80's I think) but I was goofing off in college and getting married when it happened so never saw the activity.

11. Enjoy the taco :) I have a 1000 peso note sitting right in front of me.
Unfortunately, it's a Chilean mil pesos note that I've had since one of my trips to Punta Arenas, Chile - I believe the one in 1984. Worth about $1.75 or so I think.
