What kind of moth is this?

It attached itself to the outside of a cabin I spent the weekend in. Huge.

Anyone know what kind of moth it is?

You know me and the pretty bugs :D :hi:
I've seen a few of those in Kansas.
Damn, the poor guys don't live that long.
"Based on the climate in which they live, the Luna moths produce differing numbers of generations. In Canada and northern regions, they can live up to 7 days and will produce only one generation per year. These reach adulthood from early June to early July. In the northeastern United States around New Jersey or New York, the moths produce two generations each year. The first of these appear in April and May, and the second group can be seen approximately nine to eleven weeks later. In the southern United States, there can be as many as three generations. These are spaced every eight to ten weeks beginning in March." wiki

Edited to add the pretty bug.
I still say it's a butterfly :D

13. That's the one I see here most of the time:

Brimstone. At least they're getting a year old. Very pretty bug, and the pic doesn't show the very bright yellow wings, which almost seem to bring Spring to here when you see one. :hi:

25. It isn't a moth. It's actually a tree leaf that has evolved to look like a moth in order to fool
nature photographers.
