Any birders here? I have a lot of trouble with depth perception,

so I can't tell the size of birds all the time. Is there a bird that looks like a black capped chickadee but is even smaller, or am I just seeing black capped chickadees at a distance (up in a tree)? Could these be fledgling chickadees? My guess is that these are almost as small as a ruby throat hummingbird.

1. EVERYONE has this problem

It's not just you. Distance, lighting conditions, what the bird is sitting on or against, colors and patterns on the bird, whether the bird is above or below you, other birds that the bird is near... all these things can fool you.

So yeah, they're probably chickadees. Chickadees are TINY, by the way. Really not much larger than a hummingbird.

2. They look larger when they're sitting on my feeders. Like I said,

I have a real problem with depth perception!

3. Yay! I finally found out where I'd stored my terracotta bird path last Fall,

hung it up and filled it yesterday, and a bird finally found it hanging next to the other feeders!
