Diverticulitis is AWFUL.

I spent Monday-Friday in the hospital for it. I now have an inflamed region with a small hole in my colon. Thank God, no surgery, but I had a gas bubble distend the area when the inflammation was worse and the pain was unbelievable. A nurse took a look at the X-ray (it was taken a couple of minutes before the pain spike and the bubble was apparent just outside the region) and she said I'd just gone through one of the few things that could exceed natural childbirth for pain.

Someone get me some fiber and a tall glass of water. And every processed, hard-to-digest food can go to hell.

Back when I was 50, the obnoxious, sarcastic doctor (long since sent packing), looked at me with disgust when I asked, "What's going on, Doc, I never had anything wrong and now it's been one little thing after another."

He asked, "How OLD are you?!"

I said, "50." (Back then)

When I've told this at the VFW bar, a vet said, "Wait till you're SEVENTY!1"


When I told this to my 95+ yr old aunt, griping about the doctor, she said, "Honey, he might have have sounded rude but he WAS TELLING YOU THE TRUTH!1"

7. Yeah, my father-in-law has it. He had to get a chunk

of his colon removed. It was tough tough tough on him. Don't let it get to that point. :hug:
