"This Is HUGH"...A&E Premieres "Biography" Segment Featuring TV Dad Beaumont

A&E Premieres New Biography Segment: "This Is Hugh: The Beaumont Story"

Former "Leave It To Beaver" star and perennial TV Dad Hugh Beaumont is the subject on a new segment of the A&E original series "Biography." The episode uses clips from Beaumont's work as well as archival and current interviews with his co-stars.

Beaumont retired from show business in the late 1960s, launching a second career as a Christmas-tree farmer in Minnesota, his wife's home state. He was forced to retire after suffering a stroke in 1972, from which he never fully recovered. On May 14, 1982, Beaumont died of a heart attack while visiting his son, a psychology professor, in Munich, Germany. He was 73.
