I grew up in the Worcester, MA area, and everyone remembers what used to be here and there. "Go past the Walmaht whey-ah the Oxfid Twin drive-in used tah be and then continue down 12 past whey-ah the Hawaii 12-20 was befo-ah they put that steak-house up...." Or else it's turn left at the next intersection and there are like four possible left turns there. At least most of those intersections are regulated now. Used to be that Kelly's Sq. and Webster Sq. were just big games of chicken.

8. When I worked in convenience stores

naturally I had people walking in every day asking for directions. I often told them "you cant get there from here" with a straight face.

Some people took it seriously, and thought they really couldnt get there from here, some people got mad, but rarely did anyone find it funny.
