2. Here in Northern Virginia,
which is as urban as any city, I see such aberrations every now and then. Usually paired with a USMC sticker, too, which makes it even more disturbing.

Quantico is only a half-hour south of here.

But, seeing them together - not good .................

18. I once saw truck balls
coupled with USMC, NRA, Glock Pistols, Fireman Kick Ash and Confederdate Flag Sticker all on one vehicle. I hope the owner was just the sararcatic type. ...Nah.

10. You get a few miles away from the I-95 corridor here, it gets scary.
Get over towards Frederick, watch out for the KKKlan.

:scared:

Its when you get north of there. I believe that Thurmont has the largest Clan Camp in Maryland. :scared:

11. Racism is not limited to the southern half of the US.
I thought I'd get away from it when I moved up north. It's usually a bit more subtle here, but its still here.

20. I actually think it's LESS subtle up here
I grew up in NJ, lived in NC and VA for 25 years, and am now back up in NJ. It's way less intergrated here re: neighborhoods and townships, as well as other stuff I've observed.

21. You must be my neighbor.
I'm in semi-rural Maryland myself.

There is a house up the street that flies a Confederate flag. During the election, it was positioned quite appropriately next to a McCain sign.
Also, one of my co-workers has a bumper sticker on his car defending the flying of the
Confederate flag. (right next to his marriage = one man/one woman sticker)

Ugh!!

23. Heck, I saw a Confederate flag in a house window in Farmington, CT
Farmington - one of the more posh suburbs of Hartford, CT, where rapper 50-Cent has a home that's on the market for $14.5 million or so. The home used to be owned by Mike Tyson (yes, that Mike Tyson) and a disgraced millionaire (Sisti?) who was involved in some sort of investment scam back in the 90s owned it before that. Granted, the house where I saw it was an older and more run down home at the corner of 2 busy streets

So, it's not just rural Maryland.

Better to know that about someone so you can avoid them.

28. Heck, I live in Annapolis
and I've seen them on cars and trucks here. And we are definately not rural. It's sad really. Of course I should admit that my husband has a sticker with the battle flag of the Army of Northern Virginia on it on his jeep. It's paired with the US flag and is for the North-South Skirmish Association, a group dedicated to the Civil War, that he belongs to.

in SoCal.

There's a jerk who parks his jacked up pickup truck
at a local grocery store parking lot with one on the bumper.
:(

They are far and few between but unfortunately,
I still see them around.

I hear ya,
