Damn it... I just broke my own rule about not drinking anything in a plastic bottle
Was just out walking around in the 90 degree heat and got damn thirsty. Was looking for a non-HFCS alternative to Gatorade, and found one, but I'd already drank the whole damn thing before I realized.... "shit, this is plastic!" :evilfrown:

Anybody know of any Gatorade type drinks that are both Monsanto poison-free AND in glass bottles?

4. That's another thing I am going to die from.
I drink out of plastic bottles all the time. At least I recycle. :)

5. Pretty sure Beer rarely comes in a plastic bottle
except at sports venues and less than classy bars.

6. Except in Russia
Where they sell it in those two liter bottle containers like soda pop...

This is ground truth; I'm not making it up...

11. I actually thought about that......
and then I figured if I started slamming down beers walking home in 90 degree heat, I'd probably pass out or get arrested for some bizzare hybrid of public drunkenness and heat stroke.

9. What's wrong with plastic bottles?
Edited on Wed Jun-03-09 07:13 PM by Odin2005
They can be recycled so I don't see how that could be an issue. I re-use pop and tea bottles to carry water.

10. Well, theres the toxic BPA stuff, for one
some plastics have it, and some don't, but damned if I know which is which, so I try to avoid them all. And there's the fact that plastic is made from petroleum, so all the more reason to use it as little as possible, which is also why it's great that all the stores have reuseable bags now. The cheap plastic ones always fell apart anyway.

Plus drinks just taste better in glass bottles (another reason why Mexican Coca-Cola rocks!)

13. If it's any consolation:
The plastic bottle probably caused you less damage than the dehydration would have.

You could get one of those stainless-steel water bottles and carry your beverage with you. Then you wouldn't be at the mercy of what's available where you happen to be when you get thirsty.
