Poll question: What Movie Would You Recommend For This Weekend?
I'm looking around and not seeing that much quality out there right now. Any suggestions?

1. Don't bother with those, but not all movies suck
I just saw "Jet Lag," a romantic comedy from France, and I loved it.

On the other hand, I saw a free preview of "Pirates of the Caribbean," and it was too ear-splittingly loud (and long!) for my taste. And I say that after seeing it without paying.

"Long" is a relative term. Both "The Gangs of New York" and "The English Patient" were much longer, but I didn't check my watch during those.

4. Haven't seen any of them...
...but I wouldn't recommend terminator because it's going to give Aw-nuld a boost for the recall. I'd recommend Legally Blonde because the dog is gay.

3. Magic Rat
I vote for LB II only because it's the first movie I would consider seeing. (But it's Reese Witherspoon so I AM biased)

My second choice would be the Hulk.

Peace*

5. IMHO
"28 days Later" was quite weird and has cult appeal, sorta like Blair Witch in that respect. If you liked that, you'll like this. Converse also doubtless true.

I won't go see T3; that boycott shit cuts both ways.

DO want to see "League", "Matrix", and "Pirates". I'll probably like them just for the escapism and the special effects.

Sooooo, depends on your taste.

6. My take
Edited on Wed Jul-09-03 09:31 AM by MojoKrunch
T3 wasn't bad. It wasn't as good as the first 2.
But I didn't gag or roll my eyes through the entire thing.
The GF's violence-loving 13 year old *LOVED* it.
Nuff said.

Charlies Angels II.
GF took the kid to see it just to get out of the house and said it was *awful*, in that over the top campy kinda way.
I'll probably rent it later because they're all hotties.

Legally Blonde II.
Come on... you're kidding right?
If she got naked, *maybe*.
lol

Pirates Of The Caribbean
Johnny freaking Depp?
Rental.

Finding Nemo
Wanna see it on the big screen.
GF and kid saw it and she liked the animation, but felt the story was hokey.

The Matrix Reloaded
If you could stomach the first one, this one is ok.
No amount of special efx will ever make Keanu act, but the action is fun.

The Hulk
Absolutely rocked.
Captured the essence of the comic book character and made an excellent film.
If you're into comic book characters come to life and more mature writing/plots, this has been the pinnacle of the genre so far.

In summary, The Hulk for the best way to kill a few hours, Finding Nemo for the animation or The Matrix Reloaded to get your SFX fix and get out of the heat.

8. If your not into comics the Hulk isn't for you
Personally I didn't really like the Hulk. I never read the comic book, but from the advertising I gathered that it would be an action movie, but instead it was a rather lame attempt to explain the Hulk's character issues that ended up explaining nothing in an obvious attempt to prompt a sequel.

This review pretty much sums it up for me:

10. Back off, sister, LOL!
;-)

Orlando is mine, yo! He's the only reason I'm going to pay to see that film (Johnny Depp makes me think it won't be a complete waste as far as script/plot goes).
