1. Stewie and Brian are clearly the stars of the show
Mainly because there's no end of possibilities of a baby and a dog doing things in a cartoon that could never be done in a live action show. Peter's just a fatter and dumber Homer Simpson with hair (not that he doesn't have his moments)
