My world is turning upside down!
Am three weeks away from moving halfway across the country.

Hold me :scared:

1. Where are you moving to?
Yikes. I swear I have boxes still unpacked (but now packrat infested) from 20 years ago...:scared:
It would be truly daunting to do a move from here.

2. Am having the mother of all yard sales next weekend
Am moving to Oklahoma City

I grew up there.

No teaching jobs around here, am at top of my pay schedule, and thus, unhireable.
Cheaper to pay newbie teachers.
And, just got a letter from the union Friday stating there's going to be a second cut of teachers either before the start of school in August, or early into school year.

Am so glad I also have an Interior Design degree.

I will find a (somewhat) living wage in OKC.
Things are beyond bad here. :(

3. Um, I would hold you, but you'd have to turn that thing
over the dryer to face the other way--I hope you understand :scared:

Moving *is* daunting--moving far is more so. It's a massive disturbance in the force--but...well...you still have the Lounge. (I checked, we aren't going anywhere. I think it's against the bylaws.)

15. I wondered WTF that thing was too.

Must be some kind of a crossbreeding between a Teletubbie and a Chewbacca was my final conclusion.

Either way, that image disturbed me too.

Laura

PS, I hope your move goes well, Whoa_Nelly. Good luck, and here is a virtual hug for you!

24. She's Brownie!
My grandmother gave her to me Xmas 1957 when I was three.
I gave her away to Toys For Tots Xmas 1963.

I found her again on eBay in 2003.

And it is the same doll...pen mark point on her forehead that I put there, and a small (baby)teeth bite on one hand, also me.
Turns out she was loved by some little girl for 40 years, and then an eBay seller picked her up in an estate sale

My grandkids love Brownie.
My son took pics of her when she was invited for a "visit" by the kids at their house.

Son has twisted humor, and I like that! :P

Thanks for the good wishes! :hi: :loveya:

6.  It's just a new start in an old place.
That beats the hell out of staying unemployed where you are or going to totally unfamiliar ground just to get a job. I hope things work out well for you in OKC.

It's easier to start over in a familiar place. And just think, if I ever get myself to Tulsa to see my sister, I can see you and Hippywife. :)

Definitely a reason to travel.

10. You think you got problems?

This is supposedly the best the music industry could come up with for an upside down theme.

12. Nope.
She's down for the count even as I type this

Don;t know how I'm gonna handle her during the drive.
Can't just throw her in the back of the rental truck.
Who knows what she would be doing in there :yoiks:

So, will have to prop her up in the front seat so I can use the diamond lanes through the big cities :::sigh:::

Packing!

Just used my first Space Bag! Love it!!!!!!
Have many more to fill.

As for the moving part...
Am paring down to basics, my collectibles, a few family antiques and my artwork collection.

So it won't be so bad this go 'round.
I am just tired of moving. :eyes:

I'll keep you and all updated as it goes along.

TA! :hi: :loveya: :hugs:

Best wishes and hugs to you, Whoa_Nelly.

I enjoyed meeting you that time in Anaheim. :pals:

I don't particularly envy you going to OKC; I understand that that is fundie territory.

However if you are OK about going to OKC, more power to you.:) And best wishes in your new job.

Edited to add: Packing and moving doesn't sound like fun. I am fortunate in not having had to do so recently. I have been in my present place for 15 years, and I was also in the place I was in before for 15 years.
