i wish i had several wives....
..."what is the punishment for bigamy?.....two wives"....
unknown

i'd go for some polygamy i guess, with certain rules, and stipulations. this practice goes back all through human history.
a man with a harem. like a lion, or a silver back gorilla, all through the animal kingdom as well, multiple wives is a repeating theme. yet our contemporary society looks down upon it.

it's still practiced in many corners of the world, even the u.s. &
africa for instance, and certain arab nations, reserve the right to have more than one wife. it's not so far fetched.

i'd like one wife to do all my personal and contractual affairs, one wife to 'take care of business'...no, wait.....three, yeah three for that. one wife to nag, needle and cajole me to keep me in line, one wife to cook, and one to wrangle the kids.

i don't want to have too many wives, but it'd be nice to have one to yell at, who would just stand there and take it, and one wife to make me laugh, and have pleasant conversations with. one for attending posh parties with, and one that works on cars.

and while i'm daydreaming, i'd like to have one wife of every nationality and race, so i could propagate the globe with my progeny, and take human evolution to it's inevitable goal of a one-race world, with me, mo paul, as adam.

children would not be presented to me until they were 10, and no fighting for my time and favor. no wives larger than me, no redheads, and no smokers.

wouldn't that be awful bigamy?

3. I wish I could have multiple husbands.

One to take out the trash, clean the toilet, cook, wash the dishes, do the laundry and generally keep the house clean.

One to have the kids, take care of them and educate them.

One to shovel the snow, keep the house repaired and walk the dogs.

All of the above husbands would be very wealthy and would turn all of their finances over to me. They would not be able to speak unless spoken to and they would require very little maintenance.

4. A couple of corrections
bigomy is a legal term used for when someone marries someone without telling them of the other spouse. This comes up sometimes when someone fails to properly divorce a first wife and from simple deception.

Polygomy is the practice of one man with several wives. This term has taken on a decidely negative tone in our culture.

Polyandry is the practice of one woman with several husbands, not unheard of in world history but much less common.

Polyamory is a confusing idea for some, it is the idea that one person can have multiple romantic and commited realtionships at the same time. Some people think that this means two or more men and two or more women in a committed arrangment and that is only partly correct. Polygomay and polyandry fall under polyamory as well, technicaly.

For a much better descrition of the topic please:

google polyamory

take a look at polyamory.org

or search usenet for polyamory

6. I am legaly married
I am a man.

I am polyamoris.

Currently, my wife and I are seeking a third to bring into our relationship to help fullfill a want/need for both of us. A man is not something completely ruled out but not high on either of our lists right now.

And for those who are interested in the subject, it's easier to be a swinger and go do some sport fucking then it is to have a real realtionship that involves a triad or more. I've never been involved in a commited relationship larger than a triad personaly. Seems VERY complicated even for me.

9. Polyamorous is having a preference for more than one spouse
Polygamous is the practice.

It's not clear what word you're trying to use.

8. Polygamy=Multiple Spouses, Polygyny=Wives, Polyandry=Husbands
So your corrections were in need of correction.

Polygamy is gender neutral.

7. Why not ?
Supposedly the reich-wingers support the original idea of marriage, mainly based on their religious beliefs. Why not support the original view of marriage ? Polygamy. One man can have many wives, all supported by God and his scriptures. Funny how you don't see any mention of this in their assault against gay-marriages.
