Hip Replacement Gives Dog New Lease On Life!
Hip replacement is the second most common joint replacement in the U-S right behind knees. But while most hip surgery patients are older...anybody can be a candidate.
Take "Mycroft" for example!
Mycroft, a 4-year-old Golden Retriever, had hip replacement surgery at the end of March.

2. I saw a dog hip replacement done when I was a kid
I was job shadowing a vet for a sixth-grade "careers" project. The vet said, "I'm going to do a hip replacement on a dog," explained why, then plunked me down on the counter and let me watch. Big ol' rottie mix of some sort, who I'd like to think had a great rest of his life.

I was impressed by the surgery. The vet was impressed that I was the only kid he'd had in there who watched a surgery and didn't puke.
