Impossible. Steroid dealer claims sales to Washington Nationals players.
LAKELAND, Fla. (AP) -- Authorities say they have arrested a Florida man who told investigators he sold anabolic steroids to professional athletes, including players on two Washington sports teams.

According to a news release, Richard Thomas told Polk County detectives that he sold steroids to athletes on the Washington Nationals baseball team and the Capitals hockey team. He told investigators "You name the sport, and I've sold steroids to athletes who play it."

The sheriff's office says Thomas didn't name specific players, and that they have no evidence other than his statements.

Thomas and his wife, Sandra, were arrested Tuesday. They have been charged with several counts of possession of illegal steroids, firearms, and maintaining a dwelling for drug use. It is unclear if they have an attorney.

Okay, seriously. Playing solid .289 baseball with a 13-32 record (yes, that's 13 wins, 32 losses) I can only suspect that uh, guys...you're doing it wrong.

Or, maybe it brings into question the allegations against Barry Bonds. I mean how can steroids (allegedly) help one hit over 700 homeruns and at the same time (allegedly) help players on a team suck at the highest levels?

1. .289 is a pretty good batting average.
Not so much as a winning percentage.

2. Whomever the players were on the Nats
they obviously got sold counterfeit stuff...:eyes:

FWIW, I believe they may be talking about former Nats player Paul LaDouca who played for them for a season and I believe was named in the Mitchell report.

6. I wonder if that would explain his odd habit...
...of being great in the first half of a season, and absolutely useless after the All-Star break in every single year of his career.

3. idk, Adam Dunn seems to have had a sudden revival
he'd be my guess. Didn't Dimitri Young have a sudden rival when he came to the Nats too?

5. Adam Dunn has always hit a lot of home runs.
I'd be more suspicious of Dmitri Young though. And he got a sudden rash of weird injuries that are a bit suspicious
