I have an opportunity to get an Olympus 35mm film camera with a zoom 35 – 135 f 4.5 – 5.6 pretty cheap, is this a good camera?

1. It's acceptable if you get it really cheap...
Olympus lenses have never been considered all that good.

2. The OM-1
was a nice little camera. It's widely used today by amateur astronomers for attaching to a telescope for astrophotography. An older zoom isn't worth much. Look on Craigslist for comparison. If you really want an older film camera, a Nikon FE or FM would be a better choice. They're tough as a ball bearing and there are lots of lenses available.

3. yeah, I let it pass
it was on a little online auction site I usually use to get antique books. I have a standard digital camera I like. If I'm going to get a good camera, I'm going to save up and really get a good, modern camera.

4. A friend of mine had an OM-1. I thought it was fantastic...
I only wish Olympus had found a way to produce the D-SLR equivalent of that body, but they seem hung-up on their "four-thirds" gimmick format instead.
