iPod question
The Midlets have put iTunes on every computer in the house. Some of the stuff is stuff I want on my new one.

Can I do that? Or is my iPod married to a particular computer.

3. I think you can only sync your ipod up with one computer.
I'd see if their is some overlap on the stuff you like.

4. I loaded iTunes onto both my home and work computer

and I can update my iPod on either one.

What needs to happen, however, is that when you plug the iPod into the computer it was originally synched to, you should set it so that it doesn't update automatically whenever it's plugged in (you should choose to update it manually by choosing the songs you want to load onto it). Otherwise, you'll erase all of the stuff you had on there from the original computer and load up all the stuff from the second computer.

5. You can get songs from other peoples computers
But you all have to have the same kind of computer- meaning a PC or an Apple. Once formatted, the iPod will only speak to one kind of computer, unless you re-format.

Your iPod also has to be set for manual library updates- meaning the drag and drop system, as opposed to the automatic updates when you plug it in to a computer.

12. Then my girlfriends' iPod is a fluke.
She runs Windows. We plugged it into my Mac, told it not to auto sync, and added tunes from my library, no trouble at all.

6. Yes, provided you update it manually, instead of automatic

7. As long as you have "Manually manage music and videos" checked on your iPod screen in iTunes,
Edited on Mon May-18-09 11:14 AM by ZombieNixon
you can plug into any computer and it will not sync. You can then copy songs from that computer directly to your iPod.
