20. Not A Family Movie and A disgrace to Thomas Kinkade

As another reviewer stated, this was NOT a family movie! Having read some of Thomas Kinkade's books, I incorrectly assumed this movie would have the same clean, moral, feel good story lines as they do. I could not have been more wrong. While the storyline itself had some redeeming value, it was ruined by constant foul language and vulgarity. Thomas' father is a jerk who brags to his college age boys about his collection of porn magazines! There is a whole nother story line about an aging beauty queen who wants to be a star. There are references mad to her having done some <......> as well. Thomas. mentor states that there is no God and throughout the movie sinks further and further into mental illness until at the very end Thomas shows him the light. The story about the relationship between Thomas and his mentor could have been very sweet if Glen were not constantly spewing obscenities and just showing himself a rather poor role model. The only redeeming quality is the relationship between Thomas, his Brother and their Mom.
I am saddened that what could have been a truly heartwarming family movie, was once more denigrated by unnecessary obscenity and sensuality.
