besides English. The English I speak now I learned because I was a nanny and intern in the U.S. Russian and French .... let's say my knowledge isn't really a knowledge. I know a couple of words and I know the Cyrillic letters. That's it.

13. Good morning MissH!
Beautiful church!

Glad to hear that you are happy with your new work computer. Fast as a devil too - you are lucky. Our computers are sooooo slow. We complain to IT but nothing happens. There's many of us that have so many programs open at one time, I think that's why it's slow. But my feeling is . . . so what! The IT Dept. should do something about that problem. You know? Haven't they heard of modern technology? ;)

:hi: :loveya:

15. It's nice to get new toys
at work. As a matter of fact, at my job we're getting upgraded to Word and Excel 2007! I know, my workplace is on the cutting edge of technology.

I covet a laptop. My home computer is fine for personal use, but I long to have a laptop. I too have to save up for that. Right now, not a necessity.

Oh, I know what you mean about bunnies. I've got plenty of them in my yard. I just planted a couple of tomato plants and put them out on my patio, but I have to put them on plant stands or the bunnies will eat the leaves. There's plenty of vegetation around here for them. Don't know why they want my tomato plants. ;)

with Word 2007. It is very confusing at the beginning. I am prefering Word 2000. Once you get it let me know how you like it.

Like you say, I have a home computer that does just fine, but I would love to have a laptop too.

This weekend I will plant my tomato plants in big pots and put them on the balcony. No bunnies there :)

tutorials already, so I think I'll be fine. They've added some nice new features too. My workplace is offering Word and Excel 2007 for our home computers at only $20.00, so I think I'll install it here too.

That would be quite the sight if you had bunnies on your patio eating your tomato plants. How many stories are you up?

Gotta head out for work. We've got an all day meeting :puke: Sheer waste of time. Nobody really wants to go, but it's a department thing. But they will be serving us lunch, so I don't have to pack anything today. Also, it starts at 8:30 a.m. so I'm assuming there will be bagels, muffins and the like, so I'm trying not to eat breakfast. Those are the redeeming qualities of the meeting. ;)

Wishing you a great day.

I'm glad the news is reporting him. I agree with the commentators. Personally, as far as I'm concerned, if he is guilty, which it sounds like he probably is, then he's been allowed to live his life for 60 years longer than he allowed hundreds, if not thousands, of people to live their's. He should be locked up.

But I am sure you get a good grade. After all your teacher praised your paper :)

Sobibor was a killing camp, no working camp. They have his ID from the camp with picture and finger prints. One person who survived the camp (by running away) is going to tell from the camp. He never met Demjanjuk but he will talk about the horrors of the camp.
What you said. He lived a good life in the U.S. What amazes me is how his family is not accepting the truth about him.
Here is an article in English about yesterday from a German news company http://www.spiegel.de/international/world/0,1518,624243,00.html

45. In German Suburb, Life Goes On Without Cars
VAUBAN, Germany — Residents of this upscale community are suburban pioneers, going where few soccer moms or commuting executives have ever gone before: they have given up their cars.

Street parking, driveways and home garages are generally forbidden in this experimental new district on the outskirts of Freiburg, near the French and Swiss borders. Vauban’s streets are completely “car-free” — except the main thoroughfare, where the tram to downtown Freiburg runs, and a few streets on one edge of the community. Car ownership is allowed, but there are only two places to park — large garages at the edge of the development, where a car-owner buys a space, for $40,000, along with a home.

As a result, 70 percent of Vauban’s families do not own cars, and 57 percent sold a car to move here. “When I had a car I was always tense. I’m much happier this way,” said Heidrun Walter, a media trainer and mother of two, as she walked verdant streets where the swish of bicycles and the chatter of wandering children drown out the occasional distant motor.

Vauban, completed in 2006, is an example of a growing trend in Europe, the United States and elsewhere to separate suburban life from auto use, as a component of a movement called “smart planning.”

Automobiles are the linchpin of suburbs, where middle-class families from Chicago to Shanghai tend to make their homes. And that, experts say, is a huge impediment to current efforts to drastically reduce greenhouse gas emissions from tailpipes, and thus to reduce global warming. Passenger cars are responsible for 12 percent of greenhouse gas emissions in Europe — a proportion that is growing, according to the European Environment Agency — and up to 50 percent in some car-intensive areas in the United States.

Freiburg is a very green city. I think they had the first mayor in Germany who was member of the Green Party. So it makes sense that they try it. Freiburg's public trans system is pretty good.

Woot! New computers are fun. Grats! :)

I had a weird night in the sack hehe. Went to bed early, slept about an hour then tossed and turned until daylight. I did, however sleep like a baby for 2-3 hours after daylight.

Funny story I noticed too. My phone was ringing all morning. The dogs were chill thinking I was still asleep. I guess they were giving me a brake lol. Then, my daughter called, and she has a special ringtone. The dogs went crazy because they know I'll get up for that :)

63. Ut oh.. the whole event now has me curious
The response given by my dogs were non-existent when my default ringtone went off.

The response given by my dogs were very obvious when my daughter's ringtone went off.

This is a classic conditioned response with a twist. :P

Seems like Pavlov used a bell or a metronome in his experiment.

Would they have drooled if the bell had been a different pitch or the metronome was out of time?

Weee!

65. We know
that they know exactly how our car or our steps sound. So yes, Pavlov has something to do with it :)

58. Hello MissHc
That photo has a magical aspect to it. I think the architecture has that quality about it. Lovely.

update: I called a couple of places yesterday. They are not currently hiring - just keeping applications on file for future refernce. That is kind of scary in my field.

 :loveya: :hi:

Good thing you have a job, huh? Keep your eyes open.

The architecture of the churches in Kiev is beautiful. Breathtaking partly.
