2. The London Rock-n-roll Show.
I think this one is from 1971. It features Bo Diddley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Bill Haley and the Comets and more. I am still deciding between Jerry Lee and Little Richard as to who put on the best show.

5. Putting aside serious documentaries about rock groups, and thinking of sheer enjoyment
In terms of just plain enjoyment, I like the "Nine Inch Nails": "All that Could Have Been," U2 "Rattle and Hum," and the U2 video of the "Zoo TV" tour, which amazed me in person and amazed me again on video. I also like Madonna's "Drowned" tour DVD, which surprised me for how good it was.

10. Sha Na Na really stole the Festival Express movie for me.
The fast version of Friend of the Devil and Buddy Guy were also outstanding.

8. Muse - Absolution Tour
Amazing concert, and Absolution is my favorite album of theirs. They kick off with Hysteria, it doesn't get any better than that. Always makes me want to pick up the guitar or sit down at the piano to learn their stuff, which in turn made me approach those instruments differently for my own music. It's a little short (probably not the whole concert) and it's missing "Space Dementia", which is a crime in itself.

Best scene: In one of the extras, after finishing a concert in a U.S. club the band walks out the side door into an alley, and Matt Bellamy (while you can still hear his guitar feeding back from inside the club) chucks his guitar into a dumpster and then walks off (he uses custom built Manson guitars, which cost several thousand Euro a piece). A slightly befuddled onlooker looks into the camera and says "Dude, he just threw his guitar into the dumpster," then fishes it out and takes it back to the band...

12. Rory Gallagher: Irish Tour 1974 is an excellent documentary/concert video
that chronicles one of the most underrated and critically acclaimed blues-rock guitarists of our day. It paints a portrait of the man behind the music and shows his sincere love for his music and his fans. I highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates good blues and/or rock and roll! Here's a clip from YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxiEMpcI83E
