1. I had one of those outside my window when I was growing up...
Very Beautiful...

The only negative about them is that the fallen petals would always stain the sidewalk purple.

Enjoy! :hi:

2. My dear Eyerish!
Oh, lucky you!

They are so gorgeous...

We haven't had any problem with staining, but they are sticky!

I can see mine from here at my computer...

I love it!

3. My Dear Peggy!
How lovely :) I lived in Fullerton Cal on a Jacaranda street and for a couple weeks each spring the street was electric when the trees bloomed.
Then of course, the buds died and littered the hell out of the neighborhood. But it was good while it lasted!

Yes, the Southland is full of such neighborhoods! And we are so damn lucky.

I love seeing the purple clouds peeking over garages and from back yards everywhere!

Thanks, sweetie!

9. The only pop song I know with "jacaranda" in the lyrics...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9YZ1ETbZyY8

...about 2:25 into it. Can't hear the word "jacaranda" without thinking of this song and the gaudy stupid video.

12. I love Jacarandas.
On Sixth Street, the line-up was amazing. I don't miss the sticky flowers on my car.

None here on the East Coast, we have a ton of varieties of cherry trees, all shades of white/pink/rose, but no PURPLE.

Yes, that is a color unique to the tree...

I don't care for the sticky quality, but I LOVE the color!

The purple haze of the trees all lined up is so wonderful.

Thanks for coming by tonight, sweetie...
