anybody know about cheap web-hosts?

I've never had a personal website before. I've worked on them a little bit, but never dealt with these types of companies.

Nothing is imminent, but I just started toying with an idea for a website. I don't necessarily want to learn php. And I do kind of know python, even if I use it more like C++ sometimes.

Do the cheap hosts generally support Python?

There are tons of these web hosts out there. Anyone care to recommend one?

And not that is going to be a problem for me, but I've wondered, what's the greatest performance you should expect from six dollars a month, in terms of bandwidth?

1. I pay 5 bucks a month.

Freewebs, yes, it is a misnomer, although, you can host a free website with very few, though nice bells and whistles, there.

The upgrade is suitable for my needs, but I don't think I have ever tapped in to it's true potential.

Check it out, it's been good to me for years now.

2. We got Dreamhost because they were cheap.

They had a lot of major outages at first (they were pretty new), and we almost dumped them. After a few months, they became rock-solid.
