Are there laws against shooting people with airsoft guns?
Hypothetically only of course, and pertaining particularly and specifically hypothetically to children?

1. It's a taserin' misdemeanor
*zap* *crackle* *pop* :-)

Seriously, it's probably battery. The degree would probably depend on how big the buises are, if any.

Double fine if you yell "Get off my lawn" at any point during the incident.

2. Dont have a lawn.
Have the parking lot. Where the kids play. With my apartment handily insulating all their parents from the incessant screaming.

10. More hard feelings than its worth
Ive been down that road. They do not take criticism or perceived criticism well.

4. It's probably not something you want to get caught doing
A more rational approach would be to fill the parking lot with broken glass, dirty needles, and used condoms. :silly:

5. It is dangerous without safety goggles
I remember in the Army being shot in the barracks without my permission even after repeated pleas of no. Though not strong enough to break the skin they do hurt. I don't know of the legality but I would say without safety gogges they should not be shot as well as a mouth guard as they could possibly chip teeth as well.

7. We used them in the dorms
If you wore a leather jacket you couldn't even feel the hits. They sting a little, but they weren't that bad.

Warning the kids to put on safety goggles and mouth guards would really defeat the purpose of trying to make incessant screaming outside my window as unpleasant for them as it is for me. Hypothetically.

8. The preteens making the noise

are not holding. If they are, I will eat my keyboard.

I 100% guarentee the parents are, but they are safely hidden away in their own apartments. Hypothetically, if I lived in such a place, of course.

12. If not part of a consensual game, then yes, it's likely a crime (assault).
If you try to make the victim believe it's a real gun, then it's assault with a deadly weapon or aggravated assault, depending on how your state frames it.

There is no law against you and your kid putting on goggles and playing a game of tag with Airsofts, though.

13. It would be assault. If they really wanted you bad, they could possibly

add a weapons charge.

FWIW, walking around in the big world and pointing something that strongly resembles a gun at people is an invitation to get yourself shot - for real.
There were some teens arrested locally for pointing airsoft guns out of a car window at people on the street as they drove past; I forget the charge, but something like terroristic threats...
