5. Nope, I was incorrect.
It's a legume. I went and looked it up. I've been classifying them wrong all this time.

10. Your sigline has made my miserable Monday.
As for the topic, I have no idea why I've always classified hummus as a veggie.

17. It's online here.
http://www.joeycavella.com/goodfood/hummus.html

It was sent to me, so it's not my recipe. It's the recipe I use though. I'm posting it here in it's entirety so that all the click-throughs don't use up all his bandwidth.

Good Hummus

• half package dry chick peas
• soak overnight (or for 8 hours)
• cook half-hour until tender

In food processor:
• the chick peas
• 1t garlic
• 1t salt
• 2T olive oil
• 1/3t cumin
• juice of 1 lemon
• 3T tahini

Puree in a food processor or blender. You will need to gradually add about a cup of water to keep the chick peas mixing and mushing. Mix a lot, like for a minute longer than you think, until smooth. Cool in fridge.

Eat.
