What a voice, and there ain't no sustain like a ES-345.

2. I really liked "The Stumble". But then again, I really like Freddy King.

4. The Stumble is a great tune too. Along with Hideaway, among my favorite instrumentals.
Freddie just had a great sense of phrasing. One of the greats for my money.

7. BB: Possibly the highlight of my bar band career was playing
on the same stage as BB King at an outdoor concert in the mid 1960's.
I am absolutely sure he doesn't remember us.
We were a white blues band from Kutztown, PA - He was.....BB King and his band....
Almost embarassing now that I think of it.

3. I was fortunate to get to see Freddie in concert in the seventies.
It was an outdoor gig at a beautiful venue on a gorgeous day. The bill was Muddy Waters, Freddie King, and Roomful of Blues. It was my first ever blues concert--great show!

I never got to see either Freddie or Muddy, but I'm glad that you did!

6. I actually got to see Muddy a second time,,
when he opened for Eric Clapton a little later in the seventies. As I got further into blues and realized just how old all the old bluesmen were, I made it a point to try to catch as many as I could in concert while I still could. There was a small club in Cambridge where they would play when they were in this area. I caught Willie Dixon, Albert Collins, Son Seals, John Lee Hooker, and Buddy Guy & Junior Wells at that club, some more than once. Also saw a young'un as the opening act a couple of times; his name, Robert Cray. :D
