5. In terms of what I like
Edited on Sun Apr-26-09 10:28 AM by Dyedinthewoolliberal
I liked the 3rd one the best and think the second one could be a great pic if the contrast between the light and the dark of the grass was greater. It seems to die out as it gets close to the viewer.
Good stuff! :)

6. Would a higher resolution camera help that?
I felt like in photoshop the more contrast I put in, the more fake it became.

8. But why let fake
stand in the way of an eye catching photo? :)
Maybe convert the grass to grayscale and leave the sunlit stripe in color?

9. I like the third one the best...
Sorry, but the others don't do much for me, photographically speaking. It's unclear to me what you were trying to do.

But the third one is good. I love the sunlight coming through the leaves...

Feel free to post in the Photo Forum. There's a lot of very knowledgeable folks there, who would be glad to help...

10. I like the third one a lot, but it doesn't scream "spring" to me - more autumn
I think the middle one would be better if the focus was all the way in the foreground rather than back a little. Even so, the composition is a little boring to me - it makes me think of the backdrop to a lawn-care advertisement.

The top one is a cool idea, and definitely the most spring-like (new growth coming out of grey winter and all that). I think I'd like it better if the leaves filled a bit less of the frame and the background was a little less busy. Also, the middle leaf is distractingly overexposed.

Thanks for sharing your work - lets see some more!

12. Thank you
I am not surprise the middle one reminds you of a lawn-care add, and I agree with you.

13. I really like the third photo.
The combination of the color and black and white leaves is beautiful. The black and white give it a wonderful x-ray quality which is very cool next to the full living color. Really really love it!
