He worries me. He's getting old, and having "accidents."

2. Yes, I do sleep. Usually for 20 hours at a time. Now, c'mon, you don't see me EVERY night.

My dog is getting old. And doing some some strange (old) things. He's been my best friend for years, and my heart is breaking that he might be nearing his end.

I don't like this, at all. But he will have a comfortable resting place with me. :cry:

5. Oh, I get sick, and sleep a lot.

And, fuck no! I didn't take on this freeper last night, or anytime recently.

She took me on over a year ago, in email. And I tore her a new asshole. She doesn't mess with me anymore. She can't even speak plain English, or spell. (Usual freeper shit.) I ripped her to pieces. And so did my ex.

It was her idea to copy messages to a hundred people. That backfired on her, LOL!

I understand completly...my old boy is 20 now, and in the last year he has been getting hit hard by his age. Dreading the time when we will have to say goodbye. But we have made a deal...in exchange for food, shelter and lots of love, Jack will not get sick or die on me. So far he is holding up his end of the bargain! But he is starting to have age / anxiety issues (especially on weekends at Thoms...sigh...)

How old is your furbaby? What breed? Post a picture!

8. Mine is probably about 16 years now. He was a rescue that I got at the humane society.

He left a skid (poop) mark on my shirt, because he was so scared and lovey. I would too! With all that noise and barking in there!

They made me wait 3 days, in case an owner claimed him. *groan* It was pretty obvious he'd been abandoned. He was such a mess!

I picked him up 3 days later, took him straight to a groomer to get a bath and that bristly shit shaved off him, and some decent food. I also got his shots and got him "fixed". He's been the most decent dog since then.

I've had him for about 16 years now, and I fear he is failing. He's having "accidents", but I run him outside when he does that. Trying to teach him he can't do that. He's also deaf now.

I'll be heartbroken if I have to put him down. But I won't let him suffer. :cry:

My Jack is an old man now, but he adopted me when he was 8. My 'adopted big brother' had decided to get a dog, and rescued Jack from a rescue group. About 2 months after that, Bill was in an accident and asked me to take care of the dog till he got out of the hospital. Well, when he took Jack home the dog kept escaping and running away back to my house. So we decided that Jack would move in with me.

It has been a great 12 years. He has only started to show signs of aging in the last year or so. He is blind, hard of hearing and his back legs are getting a little shaky. Worst for him is his seperation anxiety!!! We spend weekends with Thomcat, and he gets really stressed if I am out of the room. UGH!

I will not keep him alive for me...but I really hope I do not have to make the decision on this. Hope he will go peacefully in his sleep.

6. I had to get ativan for my dachshund for when it storms.

She is a mess when it thunders. I tried the OTC remedies, no luck.

9. I used to get sedatives for him around the 4th of July. Because fireworks scare him.

I made a mistake this year, because he's deaf. He can still feel the vibrations. So I will get the sedation for him next year.

I sure hope he is still around then.

22. We used to use Rescue Remedy for our old golden retriever

anytime there was fireworks or thunder and lightening she would go bonkers.

Our doxies just dive under the covers on my bed, but otherwise they do fine.

7. My beloved Gypsy would sit with me on the porch and watch the storms

go by until she got old and then they scared her. But my Newfoundland puppy, Raven, was scared of them from the get go. She would try to fit herself under the bed which was a pretty funny sight. Your lap is the best place for your pup!

20. I usually don't take the tornado warnings seriously. But I got fooled one time.

The house and windows were shaking. I grabbed my son by his pants and almost threw him down the basement steps. I had hold of the seat of his pants, but it scared him. I carried him down the steps by the seat of his pants.

My garage landed in my driveway, and there were bare wires all over the place. We didn't have power for 3 days. I'm sorry I scared my son, but I thought the house was going to turn to toothpicks!
