here are a few on youtube....I remember these in school in the 70's on rainy recess days. By then they were just funny.

1. I was in grade school during the 50's and at our little school we didn't have a film
projector. We did have a slide projector with the teacher reading the narration as the slides were changed. I remember most of them being geographical in nature. More often than the slides, there were some church ladies that came in with a felt covered board and cut outs of trees, buildings and people and they would use them to illustrate Bible stories.

The first (and only) sex education film I ever saw was when I was a high school senior and they had all the girls go to the gym and watch a film about starting your period. A little late on the timing on that. Rumor had it that the boys saw a film on VD, but they must have been sworn to secrecy by the coach because they never talked about it.

16. AG, we must be about the same vintage. If the boys film was
anything like the one I saw, they'd still be trying to forget it.

Think dripping blisters and progress from there.....

2. I remember watching a documentary on PBS...
a couple of years ago, something about teenagers and education etc.In one scene there was a teacher

who decided to show some of those old movies to the students to see their reactions. She was expecting

laughters and silly jokes but to her surprise the teens seemed fascinated by all this because

with all the problems they have to face these days, like HIV,violence and so on,the young peoples

they were watching on the screen seemed to have it easy and were living in a wonderful world in a

time where everything was far less complicated.I found that pretty surprising as well because

despite the fact that I'm "only" 42 I know that those movies were basically propaganda showing an

idealized version of a way of life that never existed.Yep,I find them hilarious too.Lol! Thanks

for the link carlyhippy.:)

7. I remember watching the live delivery of a baby
in a fallout shelter. The only film they could dig up to show us childbirth in health class was "how to deliver a baby in a fallout shelter".

12. I went to school in the '40s and '50s
and never saw any of those films. I guess in Florida, the educaturs preferred to keep us in the dark. My mother never wanted to talk to me about any of those subjects. Thank heavens, I had an open-minded aunt who filled me in.

13.  we thought (some did anyway)
you could get pregnant by kissing and sitting on a boys lap. To bad they didn't tell us what REALLY caused it because there were a lot of OOOPSES back then!

The fairy godmother forgot to tell Cindy that if she wants to be invited to parties she needs to lose weight and dress like a slut.

18. The sex education one....
It's not a good idea to go swimming during the first two days of your period.

During menstruation, you should keep yourself extra clean and wear your prettiest dress.

19. Yep.
Wear your prettiest dress even if you feel like death warmed over. Grin and bear it, even if your uterus and ovaries are tying themselves into a Gordian knot.....

And of course they never tell a girl anything about boys, or actual intercourse, or how you get pregnant, or how to prevent it.

It's all about making sure the girls don't leave bloody trails in the school hallways.

:wtf:

Hey Johnny! If you see the flash from an atom bomb, jump off your bike, lay down, and cover your head. Good boy, Johnny!
