Have you ever experienced road rage? I did once, and it was terrifying.
This guy got a hair up his ass and tried to run me off the road. I seriously did not know why he was so angry with me.

I changed lanes quickly and took an exit. That fucker backed up to take my exit to follow me. I couldn't shake him!

So, I stopped a few houses down from my house, and decided to confront him. He pulled up behind me and pulled a bat or gun from his car. I figured, if my name is on the bullet, oh well. But I had my foot on the gas peddle, just in case.

He approached my car, and I said "is there a problem sir?" He melted to jello, apologized profusely, and said he'd had a bad day. Well, no shit! He thought I was some guy that was out to get him.

He drove off and let me go. I was scared shitless!

Have you ever experienced road rage? I haven't since then. I let the crazy people go in front of me.

1. Yes, once
And I don't know what I did either. My assistant was with me and he didn't see anything either. But all of a sudden this guy started weaving in and out of traffic trying to catch up to me and when he did was seriously tailgating my car, which was in the right lane. I thought he was just some jerk who was in a hurry so decided to pull into a parking lot to let him get past but he pulled into the parking lot too, pulled right up next to my car, and was opening his door to get out when he noticed my assistant in the passenger seat. From the back my assistant probably looked like a woman with his thick, curly, long hair but when the guy started to get out he noticed that my assistant was, in fact, a very big MAN. Road rage guy jumped in his car and zoomed off.

We never did figure out what I had done to make the guy so mad. But, it was scary.

5. Me too! I don't know what set this guy off, but he thought I was some guy after him.
When he approached me, he apologized. Said he'd had a bad day.

Whew! He had a weapon in his hand. I had my foot on the gas peddle.

2. I have. But only on days that end in "y"
There's a reason I live within walking distance of almost everything I need, and three miles from work. I hate driving. Especially in this town, where nobody knows how to drive properly.

3. Yes. Myrtly Beach, SC
I had MA plate on my truck. He cut me off, I flipped in the bird with my baby finger and he chased me for miles til I lost him.

6. MANY times.
But, this was one of the craziest.

I was driving on a road with a speed limit of 35 that I knew well. What I knew best was the fact that the cops treated it as a big speed trap so I was going exactly 35. This was obviously not good enough for the guy behind me. He rode my ass within an inch for about a mile and then passed me illegally like an insane person; screaming and cursing while he did it and then slowed to a crawl once he was in front of me. A few blocks later we got to a stop sign. When he stopped, he quickly exited his car and walked up to mine and KICKED my door. Hard. He left a big dent. It was crazy. I took his plates and called the cops. They found him and got us in touch. He offered to pay cash for the damages and did not want insurance company involved because he was driving a company car. I went to a few places and sent him the highest estimate and he paid it.

Jerk.

7. Yup, once.
It was dark, and I was on my way home from work. I had to change lanes on a busy boulevard, and I looked before I moved. I also signaled.

But somehow, I missed seeing these guys in a car right behind me; I had mistakenly cut them off. The driver started to honk, flash his lights and tailgate me. I heard them yelling too. They followed me for miles, and onto the freeway. I was petrified.

I got in the right hand lane on the freeway and did the speed limit, hoping they would get tired of me. I knew I couldn't go home if they followed me off, so I was prepared to go somewhere else.

Luckily they zoomed past me right before my turnoff and continued on away from me.

I HATE changing lanes, mostly because of this incident.

Never had anything like it, before or since.

8. Yeah once.
So my bro and I go to this restaurant in Irvine with some friends to go get breakfast. And the parking lots are at an angle. So I start to make a left hand turn and this jackass driving a Chevy Tahoe backs out of his space (which is maybe 2 feet from my car). I start furiously honking the horn and the jackass STILL continues to back out. He came within like literally 3 inches of smashing into my Nissan sedan (and that would not have been a pretty accident). Finally he drives off and flips me off, and I yell out "fuck you douchebag" so loud the whole parking lot could hear me. If I wasnt going to get breakfast I would've followed him to demand an explanation of why he almost smashed into my car.

9. You are braver than I am. I didn't challenge this guy in any way.
He just thought I was out to get him.

And he did apologize when he saw me. I was not the guy he thought I was. But that was fuckin' scary. I thought he was going to shoot me.

10. Yeah, I was on my Harley.
Guy in a pickup kept veering into my lane. After a couple of times I realized he wasn't just a shitty driver. I guess I must've reminded him of some biker that stole his girl or something. Anyway, the traffic was pretty heavy so I was able to split lanes and move away, but a few miles down the road he caught up and started screaming at me out of his window. I ducked him at the next offramp. I always kept a pocket full of ball bearings after that incident.

with their shotgun? :scared:

12. A few times.
A group of frat guys chased us halfway around the LBJ freeway, wielding baseball bats. No cops to speak of, of course (when you need one). This was in the days before cell phones.

Another time I changed lanes right when this Mercedes behind me was trying to pass, and the driver - totally looked like a soccer mom - came up beside me and flashed a gun. (PCH-Los Angeles)

13. I had a great one..........
For whatever reason - maybe the "Impeach Bush" bumperstickers on my truck? - some asshole crawled right up on me on the Capitol Beltway, where traffic moves very nicely. I was in the far right lane, heading for the next exit, doing about 65, along with all the other traffic, and this jerk was right on my ass, flashing his lights. I have no idea why he was doing this. I just kept driving.

Finally, he swung to the next lane over, on the left, and sped up to start yelling at me. He looked nuts, and, with windows closed (it was winter), I have no idea what he was shouting, but he practically purple in the face. I still think it was the bumperstickers.

And, while he was raging at me, he drove right into the back of the car in front of him. Hell of a loud crash. I couldn't believe what I had just seen.

They were slowing down, turn signals flashing as they pulled over to the small shoulder that the Beltway offers, as I took my exit, watching this little drama in my rearview mirror.

It was beautiful.....................

18. That's why I won't put any bumper stickers on my car.
And once my dog got fed some crap that made him sick. I'm convinced it was because of a Democratic candidate sign in my yard. He was pretty sick when I found him.

20. Yes... scared the daylights out of me.
I don't even know what I did, except that I had to pass a (moving) school bus to get into the left lane to make a turn.

For some reason a nut in a black pickup truck then passed me, got in the left lane, waited for me and put his truck in reverse when I went to turn left!!

I was too stunned to get his license number... but I wish I would have called the State Police. Maniac.
