3. Nirvana may not be everybody's favorite, but honestly...
They're the WORST one you could come up with?

9. Yeah. they're the worst I could come up with
Because I try to distance myself from that kind of music. so I'm not that familiar with most of the groups.

16. so what you're aying
is that you don't listen to the music, know of any bands, and yet you can make a blanket statement about the quality?

5. All of them, especially the new Midwest "rockers"...
...like Puddle of Mudd, Staind, The Spiderman theme guys, etc

Creed is terribe too.

But make no mistake- all the "old school" stuff from the 90's sucks/sucked too.

The whole "alternative" boom of the 90's was devoid of melody, good singing or good musicianship...

If you cant just call it "Rock & Roll"- then somthing is wrong with it!!

23. Staind is one of the very worst bands I have ever heard.
And I can remember Elvis doing Jailhouse Rock when it was current.

But Staind and Creed would not have gotten past the door of a recording studio back then. They would have been laughed off the stage. And Three Doors Down is just as horrible.

Rock and roll has finally gone back to nothing.

6. Grunge? Didn't A&R record weasels make that up?
Honestly I don't think I ever heard the name "grunge" before Nirvana got big and I was familiar with most if not all of those bands prior to Nevermind hitting big.

That being said, whatever you call them I call Nirvana the most overrated band in history.

13. The A&R Guys said...
"Holy $h!+, we've signed a lot of crappy bands from Seattle. How can we turn this into a marketable point..."

And thus from the ashes of Mother Love Bone, arose "The Seattle Sound (tm)", as exemplified by Grunge (tm).

You knew it went way too far when Heart and Sir Mix-A-Lot were claiming their Seattle heritage to help sell records...

I never liked Soundgarden, but they're certainly not the worst. Gotta jog my memory a bit.

18. Agreed
They are bad. I put Creed because they are around so much, but I bet I could put worse. I'm not as big on Soundgarden as some here, but they aren't among the worst.

12. It's a tie......
Among the around 50,000 or so really horrible no talent wannabe "bands" that played in every dank mildewed club and garbage can in Seattle during the late 80's and early to mid 90's. Most of these bands could not technically play as well as a really bad country cover band.

And I like a lot of grunge.
