1. On the bright side, quiet streets, nearly level so spectacular for walking
Pleasant houses, friendly dogs and cats, a nice array of flowers both wild and domesticated, a terrific park and a small but very nice park, the great cotton mills that built the neighborhood, now apartment buildings themselves: http://www.sciway.net/photos/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=508&g2_serialNumber=4 On the less bright side, rebel flags, Confederate American bumper stickers, an astonishing number of single-wide mobile homes and uh, two quarries whose explosions several times daily shake the ground here five blocks away and make one feel like he's living in Baghdad. Then again, the State Fairgrounds, the football stadium and two baseball stadiums (stadia?) are within a mile. So there are compensations.

4. F. Scott Fitzgerald's birthplace,
Just down the street from my house. And bunch of Victorian mansions.

The Fitzgerald Walking Tour has a lot of cool pics:

Paul Wellstone also used to live a couple blocks from me, too, when he was senator.

8. Narrow streets, lots of nice old houses, too many townhouses.
I live across the street from a railroad yard which is located next to a bayou.

Lots of nice green places to walk including some woods.

Lots of places to walk and hear the birds sing.

Buggies that is. The bridge pictured here is several miles from my house, but there is one nearly identical to this one about a mile away.

But back to the buggies, I live on the main street of my town and a lot of buggies go by here every day. Especially on Sundays, when there must be 100 go by sometimes.
