Should mention I found a cool apartment today
Basement in one of those three story apartment places...it's about 30 feet from a river..which is cool, and the interior is all new. Carpets, countertops, and the like have been re-done. I still wanna hold off to see if I can't find a decent house now. I was thinking, a house with a landlord who would let me paint the interior and have a dog would rule.

This guy has three apartments to rent, so I think I'll wait a couple weeks.

1. Umm....were the carpets, etc redone because of flooding?
Basement apartment + 30 feet from the river might not be the ideal situation.

2. Yeah it was a flood
But the city raised the dyke about ten feet after the flood. Plus it's getting to be flood season and there is hardly and snow to melt this year,

3. Could you even get apartment insurance there?
Now I'll have to worry about HeyHey floating around his apartment like Shelly Winters. :)

4. Don't know
but the place stood for 15 years before and never had a flood until that one.

And with the higher dyke, I'd say a flood is unlikely.

Neat thing though, the river is one of them rivers people tube down in the summer.

YEEHAA!
