woo hoo, I just filed my taxes

and I feel a little dirty.

Both the state and feds owe me money, but hell, I owe them more, so they can take it out of what I still owe.

I am always so scared that when I hit "enter" (I did it online) that it's going to say, "Amount owed: 8000" like it did for 06.
My accounting and filing skills have gotten a lot better, so therefore I will not be oweing that much at the end of the year ever again.

I think I've got the withholding nailed down pretty good. Getting a refund of 250, which would have been closer to 70 if not for buying a car last year, and being able to itemize the sales tax paid on it.

4. We're due a big refund from the state (NC) and they've been sitting on it for a month.

Was hoping we'd get that in time to help cover the big amount owed the Feds.
