Duct tape: Perfect teacher's tool to keep a student at his/her desk?
Palma Sola teacher accused of taping student to chair

MANATEE — A Palma Sola Elementary teacher is being investigated on a child abuse charge stemming from allegations that he duct-taped an unruly child to a chair earlier this year.

The teacher, who authorities declined to name, was placed on leave.

The teacher was accused of taping the child to his chair and displaying the boy to his classmates, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office report.

The problem between the teacher and the child came to a boiling point some time after Christmas break, the report stated. The boy was “hyperactive and hard to handle,” causing the teacher to threaten to tape him to his chair if he got out of it “one more time.”

The boy got out of his chair again. The teacher then took the student to the hallway and bound the boy’s lower legs, thighs and shoulders and arms, according to the report. The teacher then stuck the tape to the chair and carried the boy and the chair back into the classroom.

Yeah, I know. Manatee County is in Florida.

11. It was done to someone I know in the 60's.
His mother complained about the possibility of a fire, and the teacher never did it again. End of story.

2. Duct tape in school.... Only for books, and well,..... ducts....
I did tape their thumbs down before lunch in Psych class once (for the anthropological experience) BUT it was pre-planed and permission slips went home a week earlier. All on the up and up.

4. I'm thinking it would make a useful cleavage-masker as well.
Either at the top of the blouse, or over the teacher's eyes.

6. Reason # 6,324 why I am NOT a teacher or day care worker.

Children have that effect on me as well.

The kid's lucky it was only duct tape. If it had been me, it would have been electrical tape and it would have been wrapped numerous times tightly over his mouth as well. He would have looked like a 1970s rubber fetishist mummy by the time I got done with him. He would be sockless on top of that, because a human being's socks fit perfectly into their mouth when they are rolled up just right. I don't like humans. Children are humans too. It is best they are kept away from me, adults too, while we are at it.

I barely tolerate hyperactive humans. They give me a fucking headache with all their incessant yammering about Twitter and such. I just got rid of one human who did that all the time; fucking spasmonaut Twittering coke fiend that he was. Good riddance. It's about time I got some peace and quiet around here. God, the peace and quiet of not having to put up with his whiny wimpy self centered mouth any more is fucking priceless. I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Bet y'all can't wait until my PMS and PMDD is over with this month, can ya?
